Open Innovation and Knowledge Management :

Searching for new knowledge

Open Innovation is based on the intake and out-take of knowledge by definition. Despite that, the relationship between the two research areas is still underexplored. This session calls for studies that deepen the understanding on how knowledge management practices influence the firm's external search for new knowledge, the structure of collaborations, the modes of knowledge transfer from the firm to external partners, the effects of knowledge spillovers, etc., with a particular interest toward the real impact factor of research. Studies proposing new conceptualizations or investigating the phenomenon using a variety or methods and perspectives are welcome.

Objectives

The session aims to understand the effects of knowledge management practices on OI, at either academic or practical levels.
